TeQuaidas Diagnostics Blood Pressure Check Information for Patients At TeQuaidas Diagnostics, your health and safety are our top priority. We follow a standard process to make sure your blood pressure readings are accurate, comfortable, and confidential. --- What to Expect 1. Before Your Check We’ll confirm your name and date of birth. We’ll explain the process and answer any questions. For the most accurate results, please avoid: Coffee, tea, or energy drinks (30 minutes before) Smoking or vaping (30 minutes before) Exercise or heavy activity (30 minutes before) 2. During the Check You’ll sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. We’ll place a cuff around your upper arm. The cuff may feel snug but should not be painful. We usually take two readings, a minute apart, to be sure the results are correct. 3. After the Check We’ll record your blood pressure and let you know the results. If your blood pressure is very high or very low, our staff will notify a provider right away and help you take the next steps. --- Understanding Your Results Normal: Systolic less than 120 mmHg and Diastolic less than 80 mmHg Elevated: Systolic 120–129 mmHg and Diastolic less than 80 mmHg High Blood Pressure (Hypertension): Systolic 130+ mmHg or Diastolic 80+ mmHg Urgent: Systolic 180+ mmHg or Diastolic 120+ mmHg (provider will be contacted immediately) --- Your Rights Your results are private and protected under HIPAA. You may request a copy of your blood pressure readings at any time.
